Mr. Go-Glass Goes Green
After all, it is our color...but it's not just our color.
In 2008, Mr. Go-Glass launched its “Go Green” initiative in which we began developing an energy and environmental platform that we hope will effectively serve our communities, customers, and company. To this end, we realize that “going green” is a never-ending process, not an event. Our belief is that we can do well by doing good and that our “green platform” will be integral to our business operations not merely a tacked on initiative.
Our organization has identified three precepts for going “green”.
1. Conservation
2. Clean-up
3. Common sense
Everyday actions that support these precepts:
1. Reduce
2. Reuse
3. Recycle
We have also identified specific areas of opportunity where the application of the precepts and everyday actions can be identified and monitored.
Areas of opportunity are as follows:
1. Our car/truck fleet – utilizing GPS and other technologies to operate more efficiently and reduce fuel consumption.
2. Our facilities – installing programmable thermostats, recycling aluminum and paper waste, and unplugging low use equipment.
3. Our products, including supply chain – improving our order and delivery process to reduce the number and frequency of deliveries without compromising service.
4. Memberships in select groups - Mr. Go-Glass is a charter member of the Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Green Force.
Events
